Designing Shopify’s Developer Platform
I’ve worked across Shopify’s developer platform, shaping a sprawling ecosystem into a cohesive, interconnected experience. What began as a loose collection of tools has grown into a platform supporting tens of thousands of apps and developers, and billions in developer revenue—one of the world’s largest app ecosystems where hundreds of billions in merchant value flow each year.

A cornerstone of this work has been shopify.dev, our developer documentation site. With thousands of articles covering every API, component, and pattern, the challenge was helping developers navigate a massive, complex system. I led the design of API references, tutorials, and guides, and helped evolve the information architecture to reduce friction and improve discoverability.
Over time, I helped shape a unified design system and visual language across the developer ecosystem, spanning documentation, community forums, our dashboard, and other dev tooling, so each surface felt part of a single, cohesive platform.

The AI-Powered Dev Experience
I worked on the design of our Dev Assistant: AI-powered in-context guide that answers questions, surfaces code, and integrates seamlessly with developers’ IDEs..

Shaping the Dev Dashboard Experience
Beyond documentation, I helped extend the dev visual language and design system to shape the Dev Dashboard, Shopify’s central hub for creating and managing apps. My work guided the look and feel, ensured coherence across products, and supported UX decisions to make the platform intuitive and approachable.
The Future of Polaris
I also led the creation of the docs for the new Polaris Web components, which migrated from polaris.shopify.com, producing guides, examples, and references that make adoption seamless for developers.
