After experiencing firsthand Google Takeout and trying to export pictures from Google Photos, there was a clear pain point where files exported without any EXIF metadata embedded into them. These stripped pictures and videos would then be impossible to sort by their right chronological order, date, time, or even location. Metadata Fixer was designed and developed to help restore the metadata into pictures and videos easily and automatically for any amounts of files. What was originally only achievable with complex commands or EXIF tools can now be done easily with an intuitive interface and process tens of thousands of photos in minutes.

A second version of this software called Photos Downloader For Google Photos, targeted towards the less tech savvy demographic, was also created at photosdownloader.com. This software bypassed the need of using Google Takeout by simply automating the downloading of photos directly from the Google Photos web app.
